Willing Willie Jan-Jan Controversy: The “Apology”

Here’s the video of Willie Revillame’s “apology” over this Jan-Jan controversy.

That’s how you get out of trouble when you’re in a country where STUPID rules. Just appeal to the lowest sensibilities. That’s what Willie Revillame did, no doubt about it. And as before, he depicted himself again as a victim.

What Willie clearly did — probably on the advice of some crisis management expert — was to let the blame shift from himself to the father.

The sad thing is a lot of people bought this sorry excuse for an apology.

It’s clear now. Willie is God. The god of a clueless nation.

This is really scary. How they fail to see the bigger picture. People like this should never be allowed to pro-create.

What is sad is that Jan-Jan’s parents, especially the father, do not know what is not right. The father said “gusto ni Jan-Jan” and he is just supporting his son with what he wants. As parents, they should be the first ones to teach their children what is appropriate for kids, good values, etc. Hindi lahat ng nakakatuwa (kung nakakatuwa nga yong sayaw), nakakaaliw at pinapalakpakan ay tama. If Jan-Jan’s parents do not see that, it is a big problem. The incident is just a reflection of what is going on in our society and Willie’s show is a breeding ground for what should not be.

very well said meriam… i can’t find the exact words to express my disgust on the parents and willie, but what you said really hits the mark… makes me remember what my grandfather always said: “Ang paggawa ng mabuti ay hindi nangangahulugan na TAMA ang ginagawa mo…”

this is just my observation ha, i think hindi normal ang pag iyak ng bata even dun sa time na nag appear na sa tv ang parents explaining and defending willie. pakiramdam ko may malalim na dahilan bakit naiiyak ang bata. cguro pag sakali dinalaw ng dswd ang parents and janjan, dapat tingnan nila mabuti ang background , ang buhay nila baka lang may pinag uugatan ang pagiging iyakin ng bata. para kasing may iba e.

In my opinion, I think it is not proper for a kid to do that in front of the public, especially in front of the TV, whether with or without the parents’ consent. Imagine a kid as young as that dance very sensual in front of the TV!!! What if all youngsters do that in front of the public and one of them is yours? Would you just laugh at him?

I feel for the boy. He is so helpless….some are so desperate to be famous and in the Philippines, it doesn’t have any boundaries. In this place where I live now, they couldn’t even take photos of your kids in public without your permission. Ito ay isa lang halimbawa kung paano magkaiba ang level ng child protection. Bilang ina, I feel sick watching this.

Wow. Anyone who actually listens to this “apology” (more like an excuse) is really stupid. He’s already gotten kicked off for inappropriate behavior before, he should have stayed off screen for the rest of his life.

when you allow people to destroy you, they will destroy you. because it shows that you give them that kind of power. humiliation and hateful are people’s way of destroying you. just because the boy performed different, people destroy him and willie. glad to know that the parents appearing to sue anyone who destroy their lives same for willie. writers and those who think they know how to use computers are so powerful and better than willie. if willie really care to learn how to use the computer such social networking, he can. computer is not hard to learn just like anything else. you put your mind to learn, you will learn. too bad, they are other issues need to be concerned about in the lives of Filipinos in the Philippines, but they all focused to continue to write bad things about willie and the young boy. no child abuse happened, because it was wide opened to the public. did anyone really look at other things young kids are performing on televisions, stages, etc and noone ever complaint about it? you think Goin Bulilit show is a good show for kids? no, because they are performing as an adult. it is not cute or funny for anyone to post their comments that doesn’t make any sense at all. go back and read your comments and see what you learned from writing it. you don’t like willie, don’t destroy him and the show. he works hard and he is not lazy. he gets up early in the morning to do a show (or shows) and some just stay home and continue to destroy him. jealous and hateful people.

    manila,

yes, lahat na sila na masamang programa damay damay na. one good thing that came out of this whole issue is the greater awareness on the need for better programming. tv can be used to educate the people. wag pabobohin ang tao o turuan na maging pulubi. patalinuhin at turuan paano makaahon sa sariling kayod.
