Wala Namang Bastusan
Isn’t it ironic that while the nation waits for more encouraging news about Former President Corazon Aquino’s condition here comes this rather nasty report about President Gloria Arroyo’s purported breast implant replacement. The timing is uncanny.
Reactions to Mrs. Aquino’s condition has been one of concern. Well, that can be expected considering the gravity of her affliction. Clearly Mrs. Aquino is also admired and loved by many. And, now that she is in the fight of her life, many Filipinos feel compelled to show her that love.
In stark contrast, the report about Mrs. Arroyo’s breast has elicited nothing but ridicule and disgust. That can be expected really. Mrs. Arroyo is probably the most hated person now in this part of the world. And, let’s face it, whether or not this bit about an implant replacement is true, it clearly does not warrant any reaction other than laughter, irritation, and — anger.
Yes, anger toward the reporter who broke the story. Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo was right when she said the report is disrespectful.
Kung sino man ang gumawa ng report na to sana man lang ginalang mo ang sambayanang Pilipino. Wala naman sanang bastusan. Kumakain pa naman ako nung ibinalita to sa radyo.
